Hundreds of silver haired symphony-goers walked briskly – laughing and jostling like teenagers. Why? Because we had all just come from a concert where we clapped, sang and danced along – transported back to the rock and roll of our youth. No signs of aches or pains or any physical inhibition in the exuberance of our rejoicing.
We’d all simply lost that aging feeling!
It’s only fair to add that in front of the symphony orchestra was a group of five musicians with amazing pedigrees from various music scenes throughout the sixties and seventies – from Frankie Valle to Elton John. Their youthful and brilliant performance of ‘oldies and goldies’ greatly belied their receding and greying hairlines!
One might’ve thought that these concertgoers had simply forgotten that the medical law on aging says we must decline mentally and physically as we get older.
